Needham Poulier was established in 1998, specialising in criminal law. In July 2017 we were assessed by an independent review developed by the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies to be conducting work ‘to a high degree of competence’ and noting that “there were several examples of the provider ‘going the extra mile’.”  Again in March 2025 it was noted that “There were examples of better than expected outcomes through the efforts of (Needham Poulier)” and in September 2023 yet another independent audit commented that “The firm has highly experienced solicitors with a wide range of experience in all aspects of criminal law….The Directors and staff clearly put their clients at the heart of their work, and the firm is clearly committed to access to justice for all; client feedback reflects appreciation of the dedication and hard work undertaken on their behalf.”

Our dedicated team of solicitors and support staff are specialists in their respective fields and we hold the Legal Aid Agency’s Specialist Quality Mark in Criminal law. We only practice in this area, enabling us to offer our clients the best service available.

We remain dedicated to the principle of justice for all regardless of means, and most of the work we do is funded by the Legal Aid Agency, meaning our clients may not have to pay for our services. More information about this is provided on our Criminal page.
